Convergencia inversa y hegemonía digital: la geopolítica china a través de TikTok

Resumen

Propósito. Este artículo examina la estrategia digital de China a través de TikTok y su influencia en la geopolítica global, atendiendo a la convergencia tecnológica, la cultura remix y las narrativas transmedia como vectores de diplomacia cultural y soft power. Metodología. El estudio se basa en el análisis cualitativo de un corpus de 65 documentos, clasificados en Literatura Académica Teórica y Conceptual (n = 27), Fuentes Secundarias y Documentales sobre Geo/Política y Regulación (17) y Fuentes Secundarias y Corporativas sobre Plataformas Específicas (21), con el fin de triangular enfoques conceptuales, geopolíticos y técnicos en torno a TikTok/Douyin. Resultados y conclusiones. Los hallazgos muestran que TikTok funciona como un dispositivo de mediación cultural global: su arquitectura algorítmica fomenta la circulación y resignificación de contenidos, mientras que su versión china (Douyin) se integra en un modelo de gobernanza estatal. En contraste, la versión internacional prioriza entretenimiento y viralidad, pero mantiene sinergias estratégicas con la proyección exterior de China. La convergencia de modelos tecnológicos, narrativas y marcos regulatorios genera un espacio de disputa hegemónica en torno a datos, identidades y soberanía digital, evidenciando las asimetrías entre Oriente y Occidente. Aportación original. Se propone el concepto de “convergencia inversa” como herramienta crítica para analizar plataformas digitales desde sus outputs hasta su diseño y gobernanza, y se ofrece un marco novedoso para comprender la “plataformización paralela” Douyin/TikTok y su papel en la reconfiguración de la actual gobernanza y geopolítica digital.
